We’ve heard that we should be using mineral based sunscreen for years. But last year, the National Academy of Sciences released a study which reviewed the use of sunscreen ingredients and their environmental impacts.

The results?

Exactly what you would think. It backs up the notion that mineral based sunscreen is the right choice.

I knew this. You knew this. But theres just so much contradicting information out there nowadays that sometimes you don’t know if you’re making the right choice. Well, consider this a reminder - mineral based sunscreen will protect our oceans.

And since we’re out in the water more than most, we should know and follow these guidelines.

“I stopped watching the news, so sick of the bias. Was searching for an alternative that would just tell me WHAT happened, with NO editorializing. I found it. It’s called 1440. It assumes you are smart enough to form your own opinions.”

I hope you enjoyed this months DIVER email!

PS - We’re searching for great spearfishing stories. Any stories of your own that you'd be willing to tell? Respond to this email and we’ll send over a short questionnaire!
